Шэрон Стоун сыграет в мюзикле, посвященном Михаилу Горбачеву



Знаменитая актриса Шэрон Стоун получила роль в необычном мюзикле, который раскрывает главные экологические проблемы и пути их решения. Звезда «Основного инстинкта» будет читать текст от автора.

Оригинальное название мюзикла: «2050: The Future We Want». Работа впервые будет представлена на саммите ООН в Женеве. Если быть точнее, то 3-го сентября экологический фонд Green Cross International отмечает круглую дату и эта постановка станет приятным сюрпризом к празднику. Михаил Горбачев основал этот фонд ровно 20 лет назад.

В сети появилась информация о том, что в постановке сыграют 40 талантливых актеров. Сейчас организаторы проводят кастинги в мюзикл «2050-й: Прекрасное далёко». Главным условием для претендентов стал возраст от 25 лет. Отбор актеров пройдет до 18-го августа, а по его завершению начнутся 3-недельные репетиции. Пока что роль получила только Шэрон Стоун. Она станет рассказчиком из далекого 2050 года. В ее истории будет много важных сообщений, которые помогут решить экологические проблемы и избежать глобальной катастрофы.

Sharon Stone et Cat Stevens dans une comédie musicale militante
Ils chanteront pour l'organisation écolo Green Cross International créée par Mikhaïl Gorbatchev.

Sharon Stone et Cat Stevens vont unir leurs voix dans une comédie musicale pour célébrer, en septembre, l'organisation écologiste Green Cross International créée par l'ancien président soviétique Mikhaïl Gorbatchev, ont annoncé les organisateurs mercredi.

La représentation du spectacle intitulé "2050: The Future We Want" (2050: l'avenir que nous voulons") aura lieu le 3 septembre à l'ONU à Genève, à l'occasion des 20 ans de l'ONG fondée par le prix Nobel de la paix pour répondre aux problèmes de la dégradation de l'environnement, de la pauvreté et de l'insécurité.

La célèbre actrice américaine Sharon Stone et le musicien britannique Cat Stevens, qui depuis sa conversion à l'islam à la fin des années 1970 a pris le nom de Yusuf Islam, seront accompagnés par 40 jeunes âgés de 8 à 25 ans, venus des quatre coins du monde, et portés par un choeur de plus de 100 personnes.

"J'ai hâte de commencer à travailler avec de jeunes artistes venus du monde entier, qui, 20 ans après que le président Gorbatchev a lancé sa mission mondiale, montrent qu'il y a un chemin à suivre, mais seulement si nous agissons maintenant", a déclaré Sharon Stone dans un communiqué.
Guerre froide

La comédie musicale, avec l'actrice dans le rôle de conteuse, emmène les spectateurs dans un voyage à reculons dans le temps, de 2050 jusqu'à nos jours, et relate l'histoire de personnages vivant dans un monde qui a réussi à surmonter les défis auxquels il était confronté comme le changement climatique ou la pauvreté.

Le spectacle est coproduit par Green Cross et Peace Child International, une association qui a commencé à organiser des comédies musicales pendant la Guerre froide, pour réunir de jeunes enfants des Etats-Unis et de l'URSS et aider à résoudre le conflit.

Les acteurs entameront le 18 août deux semaines de répétitions intensives à Genève, ont expliqué les organisateurs, ajoutant que leur but était de mettre le spectacle à la disposition des écoles et des organisations après la représentation du 3 septembre.

Sharon Stone, youth of the world to perform musical 2050: The Future We Want

Famed actress Sharon Stone and young musicians from Damascus to New York will be joining forces with Mikhail Gorbachev, Cat Stevens and the United Nations to sing for a more sustainable and secure world in a major cultural performance being held 3 September 2013 in Switzerland.

The show, titled 2050: The Future We Want, is based on the renowned Peace Child musical, and will be performed in the 2,000-seat Assembly Hall at the United Nations Office at Geneva in honour of the 20th anniversary of President Gorbachev’s founding of Green Cross International, the nongovernmental organization responding to the inter-related challenges of environmental degradation, insecurity and poverty.

The musical is being co-produced by Peace Child International and Green Cross International, with support from the Geneva-based Simply Theatre Academy. The performance will feature songs and music from Peace Child co-founder David Gordon and his brother, legendary musician Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), and be performed by a 40-strong cast aged from 8-25 years, backed by a choir of more than 100 people.

Led by Sharon Stone, in the lead “storyteller” role, the plot will take the audience on a journey back through time, from 2050 to now, and follow the cast forward as they demonstrate how they manage to resolve the critical challenges the world faces, including climate change, sustainability, poverty and security.

“The 2050: The Future We Want musical could not have been performed at a more appropriate time,” says Ms. Stone. “The world is at a crossroads: do we continue down the path of environmental destruction as we extract more and more resources to power our economy? Or do we urgently take a new path, using already what we know now, to embrace sustainability, efficiency and innovation to create the Future We Want?”

“I can’t wait to start working with young artists from all over the world who, 20 years after President Gorbachev launched his global mission, are showing that there is a way forward, but only if we act now,” Ms. Stone adds.

Alexander Likhotal, President of Green Cross International, says the organization wants to put on the musical that can clearly demonstrate, through the creative actions and insightful words of young people, that the world has reached a critical juncture, and that only through real deeds we are able to create a future capable of sustaining all people on Earth.

“We believe the musical will be the first time the challenges and solutions confronting the world have been brought to life on stage by youth. We are fortunate to have the support of Sharon Stone and Cat Stevens, plus the backing of the United Nations, to create this spectacular. But we want the musical to continue its life after the 3rd of September, so we will be making it available to schools, civil society organizations and all appropriate parties who may see it as an exciting way to try bring closer the future that we would want for generations to come.”

Two weeks of intensive rehearsals are starting on 18 August in Geneva, Switzerland, for the debut performance of the musical 2050: The Future We Want.
